TERRITORIAL ENTITY IN CONCEPTION OF SELF-GOVERNMENT: INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Abstract. The author presents the comparative description of the notion "territorial entity" and its forms in foreign countries, researches approaches to the consolidation of the legal status foundations of territorial entity, formulates the general definition of this notion, reveals the common distinguishing features of territorial entities in most countries of the modern world, and determines the task of developing local self-government forms in Ukraine, in which performance the experience of the developed European countries and local social-economic features should be considered, using the well-established practices of recent decades.
