HYMN "AURORA CAELUM PURPURA" IN MODERN PRACTICE OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH IN RUSSIA

Abstract. In the article the Latin hymn of Ambrosian tradition translated into the Russian language after the reforms of the Second Vatican Council is considered. The author notes that the requirements of the active participation of congregation in liturgy have led to the change of the text and musical stylistics of ancient psalm. Despite the fact that certain hymns demonstrate neo-Gregorian tendencies, the simplification of expressive means becomes significant for modern hymn-creativity.
