Abstract. The article analyzes the choral work "Затрубят-то в трубоньку" ("When One Blows the Trumpet") by Sergey Chebotarev, who found the inexhaustible source of inspiration in the Russian folk melos. The composition reveals some characteristic features of putting into practice the wedding songs of the rite of binding the bride that got free interpretation in the composer’s music. Tying the traditions of the past with the present, the composer emphasizes in the arrangements that unique character, those distinctive, unique features, which indicate the inexhaustible power of folk songwriting.
