FORMATION OF INDUSTRIAL SCIENCE IN RAILWAY HIGHER EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENTS OF WEST SIBERIA IN THE ERA OF THE SOVIET MODERNIZATION IN THE 1930S

Abstract. The article considers the historical conditions and process of industrial science formation in the West Siberian universities of railway transport engineers, and describes its main trends that developed in the 1930s. A close link between modernization in the USSR and the formation of departmental science is identified. Attention is focused on the individual contribution of the Siberian scientists - railway men to the establishment of scientific schools. The problems of regional importance faced by transporters during the foundation of departmental science in railway higher education establishments are mentioned.
