FOOD CRISIS IN YENISEI PROVINCE DURING THE FIRST WORLD WAR

Abstract. The article studies the reasons of food crisis in Yenisei province during the First World War. The author analyzes the nation-wide state of economic affairs and the regional features of the Siberian economy. It is shown that the main reasons of crisis in the agricultural East Siberian province remote from the theaters of war were the social structure of town administrations, their untimely and uncoordinated actions, as well as the lack of rail links between the districts.
