THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN PUBLIC DIPLOMACY STRATEGY OF CHINA

Abstract. The article studies the public diplomacy of the People’s Republic of China in relation to the United States of America. The author pays special attention to the instruments that China’s leaders use to implement the main objectives of this policy: the popularization of national culture and language and the expansion of information influence. The author concludes that the relatively small effect of public diplomacy actions at this stage is connected with objective factors, but the policy of the country’s leaders can bring success in long-term outlook.
