Plaksenko Anna Anatol'evna
Altai State University

Abstract. Eastern Orthodoxy adopted by Rus from Byzantium was one of the key moments, which played essential role in the formation and development of national culture. In the article the author characterizes the views of the main representatives of classic Eurasianism concerning the role of Orthodox belief in the formation of the cultural image of Russia. It’s shown that Orthodox belief is the objective of the Russian culture in the Eurasian conception, and Orthodox Church acts as the foundation of the spiritual unity of Russia.
