Abstract. The article considers the basic tendencies of the development of forwarding activity, which involve the participation of forwarding agents in operator’s business. The author analyzes the contract of forwarding activity, presents its comparative characteristic with the contracts of assignment, commission, and agency, determines the place of the contract of forwarding activity in transportation relations.
