GEOGRAPHIC FACTOR OF THE RUSSIAN CULTURE FORMING IN CLASSICAL EURASIANISM DOCTRINE

Abstract. The relations of the human being and culture with geographical environment have been investigated for quite a long time in the history of the native philosophical thought. The article focuses on the views of the representatives of classical Eurasianism concerning this problem. The role of the category "development place" (authored by P. N. Savitskii), which is the basis of the geopolitical doctrine of Eurasianism, is shown. The author draws a parallel between P. N. Savitskii’s conception "development place" and N. Ya. Danilevskii’s doctrine about historical-cultural types.
