Centre for Preservation and Use of Historical-Cultural Heritage and Film Materials of Tambov Region
Abstract. In the article the comparative review of five editions of the geographical atlas of Tambov region is given. During the analysis of certain maps of the fifth edition some mistakes and shortcomings have been revealed, a number of critical remarks are expressed. The authors state that such maps as "Tambov Region. The XIX Century", "Administrative Map", "Geography of Religions" and the reference source to it, "Tourist’s map" and the text "The Places of Interest of Tambov Region" to it are among the least felicitous ones. They come to the conclusion that the atlas as an educational reference book needs revising.
