TOWN-PLANNING DEVELOPMENT OF RIVERSIDE AREAS OF THE MIDDLE VOLGA REGION IN THE X-XIII CENTURIES. VOLGA BULGARIA

Abstract. In the article the historical stage of the formation of the first feudal state Volga Bulgaria in the Middle Volga region is analyzed. The main period of the town-planning development of Volga Bulgaria at Samara Bend in the X-XIII centuries is identified. The architectural-planning analysis of the first large city "Murom Borough" and "Mezhdurechensk Ancient Settlement", which were founded in the X-XI centuries, is carried out. The author comes to the conclusion about the influence of the riverside relief on the planning structure of the first settlements and towns of the Middle Volga region. The town-planning types and peculiarities of building the large and small settlements of Volga Bulgaria at Samara Bend are detected.
