SPECIFICS OF STRUCTURAL EVOLUTION OF MILITARY FORCES OF CANADA IN 1939-1945

Abstract. The article basing on the official history of the military forces of Canada, government sources, statistics and periodicals makes an attempt to analyze the development specifics of the structure of the ground forces of Canada in the period of the Second World War. Special attention is paid to the interaction of the Canadian and British military authorities and also to the influence of political and economic factors on developing a model of the ground forces of Canada. Such issues as the development of armored troops and artillery are also under analysis. The key task of the research is to identify the level of the autonomy of Canada in the creation of its own army in the period of the world conflict.
