PROBLEM OF WAR AND PEACE IN PHILOSOPHICAL CREATIVE WORK OF L. N. TOLSTOY OF THE END OF THE XIX - BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract. The article considers the understanding of the problem of war and peace by L. N. Tolstoy in his late philosophical creative work of the end of the XIX - beginning of the XX century. The author reveals the terminological meaning of the conceptions of "war" and "peace" in Tolstoy’s philosophy and world outlook. The paper also analyzes reasons for wars distinguished by Tolstoy, their interrelation, methods for peace-making and his personal contribution into peace-building. The researcher shows the evolution of the writer’s views, which promotes deeper understanding of the origins and essence of his world outlook.
