LEGALIZATION OF PRODUCERS’ SOCIETIES IN RUSSIA AT THE END OF THE XIX - THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract. The article examines the basic normative and legal aspects of the development of handicraft cooperation in Russia at the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century. Legislative attempts to adjust agricultural cooperative statutes in accordance with the social evolution of the village are analyzed. Emphasis is made on the role of zemstvos in producers’ cooperation development and at the same time reasons that hampered the mass spread of agricultural societies are not ignored. The author also notes that the government saw a political danger for the regime in certain autonomy of cooperation.
