PROBLEM OF COMPATRIOTS’ REPATRIATION TO THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Abstract. The article examines the demographic foundations of the process of the repatriation of compatriots to the Russian Federation at the contemporary stage of the statehood development. The peculiarities of the return migration of the compatriots in 1992-2007, the mistakes while regulating the processes of the repatriation of the compatriots made in that period are analyzed. Legal innovations in the area of the regulation of this process are summed up; the effectiveness of the State Programme on the Resettlement of the Compatriots Living Abroad is analyzed. Suggestions are made on the improvement of the efficiency of the State Programme realization.
