COMMUNITARIAN CONCEPT OF CIVIL SOCIETY AND POTENTIAL OF NATIONAL PUBLIC ASSOCIATIONS

Abstract. The article considers the central ideas of the communitarian approach by A. Etzioni to the study of civil society. Collectivism, and also the balance of rights and obligations of a personality in relation to the collective are considered as the fundamental theses of this direction. In this connection the idea is substantiated that following the basic postulates of communitarianism may in a positive way influence the condition of the contemporary Russian society. In the framework of the approach under consideration national public associations as institutes of civil society are an optimal form of the regulation of interethnic relations. Besides these public structures are able to generate and implement general collective values and meanings being the basis for population integration.
