Abstract. The article is devoted to the problems of the classification of a little-studied genre - the Tatar lullaby. The analysis of the works by Tatarstan folklore specialists has revealed the controversy of the criteria applied by them in relation to the genre differentiation of national musical art. The author of the paper suggests a musical-stylistic principle of the intra-genre classification of lullaby and its scheme is developed. The work will be of interest to the specialists studying children’s musical folklore and the issues of the genre classification of folk art.
