CALL OF DUTY IN THE VALUE SYSTEM OF THE MIDDLE VOLGA NOBILITY IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE XIX CENTURY

Abstract. In the article the analysis of the perception of call of duty by the Middle Volga nobility in the first half of the XIX century is presented. The factors that predetermined the change in the attitude of the provincial nobility to service during the studied period are identified. Special attention is paid to the analysis of autocracy policy in the formation of the nobles’ attitude towards service as an honorable duty, and not as a responsibility that burdens them.
