NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS OF THE ABKHAZIANS AND THEIR FUNCTIONS IN WEDDING CEREMONY

Abstract. The article considers the basic complex of the national musical instruments of the Abkhazians, and analyzes their functions in wedding ceremony. The study is based on folklore expeditions to the village Hipsta of Gudauta district of the Republic of Abkhazia and on communication with a bright representative of instrumental culture - Himtsa Platonovich Hintuba. The article emphasizes the importance of using authentic instruments in wedding ceremony, analyzes the musical and expressive complex of wedding dance songs, and mentions its semantic features.
