Abstract. The article is devoted to the philosophical understanding of the discursive practices of drug addiction. It is shown that the ways of speaking about drugs are divided according to the principle of mutual exclusion: tabooing discourse on drugs as absolute evil and contradictory to it discourse about rescue where the promise of hope comes instead of fatal hopelessness. The presence of dichotomy in discursive practices leads to the origin of the state of carelessness in society. The dualism of concepts in the forms of drug addiction description becomes problematic. The absence of dialectical opposition makes the discourse of intimidation insufficiently effective.
