POLITICAL ACTIVITY AND POLITICAL PORTRAIT OF KWAME NKRUMAH

Razmyslov Sergei Sergeevich
Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia

Abstract. In the article the political activity of the leader of the national liberation movement and the first President of Ghana Kwame Nkrumah is considered. The author analyzes the foreign policy directions of the country in the first years of independence with account of the political views and features of Nkrumah. The proposition that the foreign policy fickleness of the first President of Ghana was conditioned by the aspiration for the assertion of the interests of the country and Africa as a whole at any cost, including by means of distancing from interblock confrontation and maneuvering between the USSR and the USA is grounded.
