LEONARD BERNSTEIN’S "MASS": REFLECTION OF WORLDVIEWS CONFLICT IN VERBAL AND MUSICAL SPHERES

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of spiritual crisis in the second half of the XX century by the example of L. Bernstein’s theatrical play "MASS". The study of works related to religious sphere has been of wide interest among scientists recently. General issues on this topic are extensively analyzed, but the theme of L. Bernstein’s spiritual heritage has not been studied systematically. As a result of the analysis the author has managed to identify clearly the main meaning of this work, namely to trace the idea of worldviews conflict, which is manifested in various aspects. The primary objective of the work is to find and reveal the key moments for each imaginative sphere.
