SALONIKA EXPEDITION OF 1915-1918 AND ITS GEOPOLITICAL CONSEQUENCES

Abstract. The article analyzes the events of Salonika expedition - one of the key incidents of the World War I, considers the circumstances of its formation and diplomatic conflict connected with it. The author proceeds from the premise that not having carried out the main task - Serbia salvation in 1915 - Salonika front turned out to be the first war theatre, where the immediate allies of Germany - Bulgaria and Austria-Hungary - were disabled.
