Abstract. The article is devoted to the history of the artisanal handicraft production of Harbuk people (the residents of Harbuk village, Dakhadayevsky district, the Republic of Dagestan), in particular the history and development of arms production. Harbuk - the largest center of handicraft production - is well known in the Northern Caucasia, but the history of handicraft production has not been studied yet. Moreover, such section of arms production as the production of firearms has not been studied as well. The author seeks to unite the fragmented information and to highlight the main issues in the history of firearms production by Harbuk people.
