SOCIAL-CULTURAL TRANSFORMATION OF SOCIETY AND DEVELOPMENT OF POLITICAL PROCESSES IN RUSSIA IN THE 1990S

Abstract. The article analyzes the development of political processes in Russia in the 1990s in the context of changes in the social-cultural characteristics of the society. Particular attention is paid to two trends of social development that had significant impact on the axio-system and political culture of the Russian socium: westernization and marginalization. The period of the 1990s is described by the author as a complete stage of the development of the Russian political process, the essential feature of which is a dynamic social-cultural transformation.
