Abstract. The article reveals the content of the concept "power", which has interdisciplinary nature. The author examines different approaches to identifying factors that form power. Special attention is paid to the problem of self-domination as the highest manifestation of power. The paper shows that the basic element of self-domination is a will as an ability to control consciously one’s own consciousness and actions. The researcher concludes that self-domination is a complicated process requiring self-improvement. Power should belong to the best; personalities-creators should be in power.
