GENERATION GAP IN THE CONCEPTION OF SOCIAL FINALISM OF A. N. AND B. N. STRUGATSKY

Abstract. The article analyzes the conception of social finalism of well-known Russian writers A. N. and B. N. Strugatsky. Relying on the contrastive method of research the above mentioned conception is examined from two opposite positions - the paternal generation and the generation of "children". The paternal conception is an idealistic, built on sensory perception of the world and not having a positive programme, purely speculative project. The finalistic conception of "children" is a positive and pragmatic, rational project of the future (global society).
