CHANGES IN SOCIAL STRUCTURE OF SOCIETY IN THE PERIOD OF NEP (BY THE MATERIALS OF EASTERN SIBERIA)

Abstract. The article is devoted to the history of the formation of the social structure of Soviet society (by the example of Eastern Siberia) in the 1920s. The complex transformational processes are revealed, which took place in the state at the beginning of the 20s of the XX century and were accompanied by the formation of a new structure and the liquidation of the old one. The changes are examined that happened in the main social classes: peasantry, workers, the clergy, etc. The author notes a special role of the party as a social lift. Attention is paid to separate mechanisms for the "correction" of the social structure: purges, elective campaigns, taxes, privileges, legal base.
