SPECIFICS OF ACTOR’S PERFORMANCE IN SMALL-FORMAT THEATRES

Abstract. The article focuses on the specifics of the actor’s performance in small-format theatres. The research task is to identify the basic features of the actor’s performance in such theatres. The author concludes on the cardinal importance of the actor’s personality and technique in small-format theatres, the basic characteristics of which are the following: minimum decoration, refusal of footlights, removal of stage in auditorium, interactivity of performances, lack of fourth wall. The originality of the paper lies in the interpretation of the actor’s personality in the small-format theatre - a phenomenon of the theatrical art of the XXI century.
