PECULIARITIES OF REGIONAL ARTISTIC LIFE IN RUSSIA AT THE TURN OF THE XX-XXI CENTURIES

Abstract. The article discusses the peculiarities of regional artistic life in Russia at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries by the example of Altai Territory; attempts to identify the causes of the outlined decentralization of art in Russia. The authors analyze the forms of artistic life, as well as the level of the artistry of paintings presented at the exhibitions of Altai Territory. The paper considers such phenomena as the development of private art galleries, publishing activity in the field of art criticism and museum work.
