STUDYING MODERN JAZZ IN THE ACADEMIC COURSE "HISTORY OF JAZZ MUSIC": METHODICAL AND THEORETICAL ASPECTS

Abstract. The article focuses on different aspects of modern jazz studies at the initial stage of its history - the 1940s. By the example of bebop style, the messenger of modern jazz epoch, the author examines social and political roots and new esthetic principles of jazz art, which changed its status and musical language. Bebop style is described through the lenses of methodical recommendations for teachers and students aspiring to adopt modern jazz art.
