Abstract. The article is devoted to interpreting the territory’s heraldic symbolics. The author focuses on the emblem of an administrative territory as a representation of its status, level of economic, political and cultural development. The paper examines specific features of the emblems of 40 Perm krai municipal formations as symbols characterizing the specific territory. The researcher analyzes the emblems according to their symbolics, colouristics, form and concludes on the positioning of the municipal districts and the krai on the whole. The paper shows that the positioning of Perm krai territories is basically natural.
