SPECIFICITY OF VALUE TRANSFORMATIONS IN CHINESE CULTURE

Abstract. The article for the first time introduces the notion of cultural code, which is a basis for the formation of the value orientations of the Chinese and is of principal importance while analysing the processes of value transformations in Chinese culture. By the example of the first spiritual crisis in the history of Chinese thought with the participation of external factors the invariability of the singled out constants in the conditions of large-scale cultural shifts is proved. The author turning to the specificity of Chinese culture deduces a certain "formula", basing on which further value transformations in Chinese culture can be analyzed.
