GENRE SYNTHESIS IN SOVIET COMPOSERS’ SONATAS FOR CELLO AND PIANO

Abstract. The article examines Soviet composers’ sonatas for cello and piano in the light of genre synthesis - one of the typical tendencies of the XX century music. The process of genre interaction is implemented at different levels. The typical features of the represented genres enrich the sonata, its content, compositional structure and stylistics. The author identifies the following outcomes of genre interaction: the tendency for one-part structure, using baroque elements, introducing the features of the concert and symphony.
