Leskova Tat'yana Vladimirovna
Khabarovsk State Institute of Culture

Abstract. The sphere of composer’s folklorism in the 1980s is notable for authors’ appeal to the citation. The purposes of the analysis and systematization of its principles in E. Kravtsov’s cantata "The Novgorod Songs" determine the relevance of the research. There is large amplitude in the methods of citation: from variation (1) to introduction of strict (2) and free (3) derivation principles. It defines the different types of text-musical unity in the cantata written on people’s words. The development of citation material is carried out in response to the growing importance of detailed elaboration of folk and poetic sources.
