RETURN TO GRAND THEORY AND ITS RELATION TO AESTHETICS

Abstract. The article analyzes some concepts of "the return to Grand theory" and their key peculiarities are defined. The paper considers which arguments against the Grand theory are made by its adversaries, and also determines which explanations of the return to Grand theory are suggested by its adepts and which features of this return may be highlighted. Finally, the author draws a conclusion about possibilities of existence of Grand theory in aesthetics.
