Abstract. The processes of identification and self-identification of a personality are realized through communication, the means of which are speech and language in social conditions. Language is understood as a system of signs existing within the context of a particular socio-cultural context, a different combination of which possesses specific semantics, while speech is an instrument for the reproduction of language constructs. The result of identification is identity, expressed through a system of signs and images, possessing the meaning in the conditions of a particular culture.
