TERMINOLOGICAL CONTEXT OF STUDYING "ENSEMBLE" PHENOMENON IN THE ARCHITECTURAL PERIODICAL PRESS

Abstract. The article considers the dynamics of using architectural terms when studying "ensemble" phenomenon in the professional periodical press of the period from the 1930s till the beginning of the XXI century. Within this period the authors examine in detail the usage of dominating terms: "composition", "image", "space", "dominant" and "architectural form". Having analyzed the notions under study and the semantic element of the articles the authors discover the basic conceptions of architectural ensemble.
