Abstract. The article considers the image of modern Russia presented in the book "Russia Yesterday and Today. Cross-Perception" edited by A. Pinault and K. Reveyard. The author gives a review of this book. The aim of the article is a brief analysis of the works included in this book on Russian literature, history, Orthodoxy. Particular attention is paid to the French researchers’ views on the recent history of the Russian Federation, its foreign and domestic policy, in particular on the European-Russian and Franco-Russian relations.
