TEXTOLOGICAL EVIDENCE OF THE APOCALYPSE BY JOHN: MANUSCRIPTS BEFORE THE IV CENTURY A. D.

Abstract. This article is devoted to a review of existing types of textual evidence of biblical texts and consideration of the well-known manuscripts of the biblical book of the Revelation by John dating back to the IV century A.D. The article describes the relevance of this issue for the reconstruction of the original text of the book, as well as presents an overview of existing manuscripts with the description of the features of the text contained in them. The article shows that the text of the book of Revelation is testified by early manuscripts that present different versions of the text.
