CLASSICAL THEATRES AT THE SOUTH FAR EAST UNDER THE CRISIS OF THE 1990S

Abstract. The article examines the key trends of the classical theatre functioning at the South Far East of Russia in the post-Soviet period. Socio-economic and political changes of the 1990s provoked deep transformation of Russian theatrical culture. In the context of the state policy the author analyzes activity of classical Far Eastern theatres and shows both positive and negative aspects of their work in the difficult historical period.
