ESTHETICS OF DESTRUCTION IN SURREALISTIC PHOTOGRAPHY

Shik Ida Aleksandrovna
The State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg

Abstract. The article is devoted to identifying peculiarities of interpreting motives of picturesque destruction in surrealistic photography. The author emphasizes the fact that for surrealistic photographers entropy images are reservoirs of accidental beauty originated by time, stimulators of creative fantasy, a source of psychological-philosophical and historical-political reflection. The paper concludes that, referring to destruction motives, photographers actualize such key surrealistic concepts as automatism, the visual analogy principle, the miraculous, objective chance, sur-reality.
Key words and phrases: сюрреализм, фотография, руины, автоматизм, принцип визуальной аналогии, чудесное, сюрреальность, surrealism, photography, ruins, automatism, visual analogy principle, the miraculous, sur-reality
