SACRIFICE IN ARCHAIC BELIEFS AND CULTS

Abstract. The article examines specificity of sacrifice in archaic beliefs and cults and emphasizes non-productivity of studying sacrifice of archaic cults through the categorial apparatus of Abrahamic religions. The paper analyzes features of the archaic sacrifice, such as: latent character of the idea of redemption, its inclination for a complex structure characterized by multiplicity of acts; mobility of time and place of its arrangement; attitude to a surrogate victim.
