MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS IN CAUCASIAN ANTIQUITIES (BY THE MATERIALS OF THE KOBAN ARCHEOLOGICAL CULTURE)

Abstract. Problems concerning ancient Caucasian medicine are still poorly investigated. The article examines aspects associated with medical treatment among Caucasian tribes in the Late Bronze - Early Iron Age. The paper aims to clarify on surgery instruments in antiquity. The author introduces into scientific use and analyzes certain attributes of ancient medicine from his archeological excavations. By the example of treating complicated wounds on a skull from the Upper Koban burial ground the researcher reconstructs possible techniques to use these instruments.
