ABOLITION OF MOSCOW PAROCHIAL CHURCHYARDS AND CREATION OF THE FIRST URBAN CEMETERIES AFTER THE EVENTS OF 1771

Abstract. The article is devoted to Moscow events of 1771, in particular - to the consequences of the so-called "plague rebellion". The issue of emergence of a new, previously not typical phenomenon - "urban cemetery" - in Moscow town-planning practice is investigated. In addition, the question of the status and significance of cemetery churches in Moscow at the end of the XVIII century is raised and the problem of abolition of the so-called parochial churchyards, which led to the change in sacred space inside the monastery enclosure and around the parochial church, is studied. Researches have not been conducted in this aspect yet.
