ORTHODOX CHURCH ROLE IN RUSSIAN SOCIUM FORMATION IN SIBERIA IN THE XVII CENTURY

Abstract. The article examines the process of formation of traditional Russian lifestyle aspects associated with Orthodoxy within the colonized Siberian territory. Participation of Russian resettlers in construction of churches and monasteries is considered as a manifestation of social importance of Orthodox institutions in the adaptation process. The author analyzes significance of religious motivation and religious self-evaluation for Russian residents of Siberia.
