PHILOSOPHY AS COGNITIVE ACTIVITY: NON-CLASSICAL APPROACHES

Tarasov Oleg Vladimirovich
Bashkir State University (Branch) in Sterlitamak

Abstract. The article examines the problem of the cognitive status of philosophy in the light of the basic non-classical approaches. The author identifies and analyzes three such approaches: anti-scientistic, anti-substantialistic and scientific-positivistic ones. The following conclusions are justified. Anti-scientism and anti-substantialism due to their absolutizing nature are axiologically and emotionally elevated but cognitively inefficient. The scientific-positivistic approach due to its empirical nature is axiologically and emotionally weakened but cognitively (and creatively) efficient, which means the cognitive status of philosophy can be adequately interpreted only within this approach.
