THE GREAT RUSSIAN REVOLUTION OF 1917 IN THE HISTORICAL MEMORY OF SOCIAL MEDIA USERS (BY THE RESULTS OF AN ONLINE SURVEY IN THE SIBERIAN FEDERAL DISTRICT)

Abstract. The article presents the results of an online survey conducted among the users of popular social networks. The analysis of the obtained data is carried out according to the gender, age and educational characteristics of the respondents, who formed their position in relation to the events of the Russian Revolution of 1917, its nature and progressiveness, causes, positive and negative consequences, the role of V. I. Lenin in the history of Russia. They also assessed their own revolutionary potential in historical and modern conditions, expressed their attitude to the revolution as a historic phenomenon and to the topicality of its study in the XXI century. The author poses the task of determining whether the theme of the revolution of 1917 itself has gone into the past or whether it continues to be topical.
