Abstract. The article examines certain problems of philosophical education determined by the specificity of the subject itself. The author identifies two ways of acquiring the material: rational and sensible understanding. In the context of justifying the possibility to develop creative thinking the paper analyzes cognitive abilities (susceptibility, observation, mind, autonomous identification and formulation of the problem). The researcher substantiates the necessity to use the Socratic method, interview method and discussion method.
