THE SOCIAL NETWORK "VKONTAKTE" AS A TOOL OF PUPILS’ COGNITIVE ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT

Abstract. In the era of the information society, every teacher should find and use new tools to maintain and develop pupils’ cognitive activity. In particular, the social network "VKontakte", which is popular among teenagers, can become such a tool. The article examines the educational opportunities of the social network, the use of which will help the teacher to expand significantly the boundaries of the classroom. The psychological and pedagogical conditions for the effective use of "VKontakte" for solving the actual organizational and pedagogical problems of the modern school are formulated.
